PATHLAIYA: Volunteers attending to Ram Bahadur Bamjan, who is said to be meditating in the Halkhoriya jungle area of Bara since 2005, today beat up five journalists.

Bibhu Adhikari of News 24 TV, Resham Tiwari of NTV, Prakash Lamsal of Image Channel, Binod Pyakurel of TTV and Basant Khatiwada of the Mofasal Dot Com Weekly fell victim to the wrath of the aides of Bamjan, who is also nicknamed Buddha Boy.

Following the attack, the journalists rushed to an Armed Police Force camp in Piluwa. “We were filming Bamjan’s sermon but suddenly his aides attacked us and seized our cameras,” said Adhikari.

Police had reached Halkhoriya after the incident, but they too were barred from entering the site where Bamjan was giving his sermon. Police, however, managed to get journalists’ cameras back.

My community has been changed for the better due to “The Buddha boy”. Their will be obsatcles and many worldly detractors, but this kind of truth and beauty will certainly advance all conciousness. I fully expected this kind of detraction from true path. “The truth stompped to the ground will rise again.” Wait for the truth- it is coming. John Triplett, Charleston WV

Jason, are you really relying on the Nepali media to tell you the truth? It seems like you have been following Bomjon’s story for a while now. All I know is you or I won’t know who the guy is unless we ourselves go and meet and interact with the so called proclaimed ‘Buddha Boy’. You should know Nepali media can make a mountain out of a mole hill. Roshan Lamichhane, Indiana, USA

Just less than a month ago, I stated there will be more and more violence surrounding this Ram Bomjon boy. What else can he invoke in the world as his confusion spreads. Jason Thomas, USA
